Pomeroy School District #110 complies with Title IX and Section 504 of the Education Amendments of 1973. Title IX requires school districts to provide opportunities for all students and personnel in all areas, regardless of gender. The district has expanded academic and extra-curricular programs for girls in recent years.

Rachel Gwinn serves as Title IX Compliance Officer for the district. Any student or employee who believes he or she has been discriminated against on the basis of gen­der may appeal through the compliance officer to have the problem cor­rected.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires school districts to ensure that students who are disabled are identified, evaluated and provided with appropriate educational services. This district shall provide a free, appropriate education to each qualified handicapped person who is in the district’s jurisdiction, regardless of the nature or severity of the handicap. 

Any employee who believes he or she has been discriminated against on the basis of handicapping condition may appeal through the compliance officer and/or district office to have the problem corrected.
