Emergency Communication Information

PSD Families-

Hello! Winter is finally starting to make its’ presence and it is time to make sure we are all prepared for the weather that often impacts Garfield County! I wanted to share ways Pomeroy School District will communicate with families when weather and other emergencies disrupt our regular school day.

Information will be shared on the following platforms:

  • Pomeroy School District website: psd.wednet.edu
  • Facebook: Pomeroy Jr Sr High School, Pomeroy Elementary, and Pomeroy Info
  • Local News Channels: KHQ, KLEW, Big County News
  • Text and Voice Alerts: These alerts are sent through our website platform called Edlio. The program uses the phone numbers that families provided to the district and are stored in the Skyward information system. These alerts will go to the primary phone number listed in the system. Please be aware that you will receive the text and voicemail from a random phone number, often indicating these messages are coming from other states. Unfortunately, we cannot make these texts/voice alerts come from the school district’s phone number.

****We will be running a test alert today, January 8, 2024, at about 5:30 PM—please know you should receive a text and voicemail. If you are a parent and you do not receive either of these alerts, please contact us and let us know!

  • Email: The district will send out an email to all the email contacts listed in the Skyward Information System.

Pomeroy School District’s number priority is to keep our students and staff safe. Our transportation supervisor does an outstanding job communicating with our county and state employees, as well as driving the roads himself to assist in making the best decision for the district when weather impacts travel. Our goal is to send these alerts by 6:00 AM so families have time to prepare and plan if needed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at 509-843-1651, or at [email protected]

Sincerely,
