Pomeroy Elementary Recognized as a Nationally Distinguished School!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

I am thrilled to share exciting news about Pomeroy Elementary School's recent achievements. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Pomeroy Elementary School has been recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA).

This prestigious award, accompanied by a grant of $30,000, acknowledges Pomeroy Elementary's exceptional dedication to student performance and academic growth. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students, staff, and administrators.

The National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program, in place since 1996, aims to showcase and celebrate schools that have made significant strides in one of three categories: exceptional student performance and academic growth, closing the achievement gap between student groups, and excellence in serving special populations of students. Pomeroy Elementary School has been honored in Category 1 for its outstanding student performance and academic growth.

We are immensely proud of the accomplishments that have led to this recognition and are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our commitment to providing an exceptional education for all students. This award not only reflects the dedication of our school community but also highlights the effective use of federal funds to improve educational outcomes and address achievement and opportunity gaps.

Once again, congratulations to Pomeroy Elementary School staff and students for this remarkable achievement. We look forward to continuing our journey of excellence and providing an enriching educational experience for all our students.

Sincerely,

Rachel Gwinn
