December 2020 Student of the Month

Emma Severs

Pride:  This year she is showing pride during a frustrating Senior Year. This year Emma has not been able to participate in her sports activities due to Covid. Instead of being, outwardly upset, she has shown pride by helping to build future Pirates. She is volunteering, her time, to help Coach the Mighty Pirates Little Girls Team after school.

Independence:  Emma shows Independence running the Mighty Pirate Practice until Coach Wolf is able to meet her team. She is running drills, and helping with plays. In the past, Emma has helped run our Youth Drills for Skills Program.

Respect:  Emma shows respect both inside and outside of the Classroom. She is polite to her peers. She is a natural leader who leads and helps guides others without making them feel less than. She shows respect while helping to Coach and encourage the next generation.

Attitude:  Emma has a great attitude. She is willing to help. When she realized she would not be doing sports this fall and potentially this winter. She wanted to make a difference. She could have chosen to be upset. Instead, she offered her time to help.

Trustworthy:  Emma is very trustworthy 16 parents are trusting her with their little Athletes afterschool. I know she will do a good job running practice until I can get there. You can trust Emma inside and outside of school to do anything correct and well. If she doesn’t do it right the first time she will work hard to fix what she needs to.

Effort: With everything Emma does, she is always working her. She is encouraging others to put forth a 100% effort. She is a good role model and leader.

Show Kindness:  While coaching younger Athletes they are at many different levels of development. I have had the pleasure of watching Emma work with many development levels. She is encouraging and never belittling. Explaining this so everyone can understand. She does this with her peers in the classroom too.
