Description
Pomeroy School District is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Special Education Paraprofessional to support a student with high academic and behavioral needs. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of certificated staff and building administration to help meet individual student needs in inclusive or specialized learning environment.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support and assistance to the student with IEPs goals under the direction of a certified special education teacher
• Support in self-contained classroom and in the mainstream classroom when appropriate
• Assist with implementing behavior intervention plans and support positive behavior strategies
• Monitor and record student progress as directed
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs as necessary
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all state and district policies related to student privacy and special education
• Participate in training and professional development

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet Washington State paraeducator requirements (Associate degree, 72 college credits, or passing the ETS ParaPro Assessment)—this can be acquired after employment
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed
