Position Overview:
Pomeroy School District is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in academic, behavioral, and/or functional settings. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of certificated staff and building administration to help meet individual student needs in inclusive or specialized learning environments.

Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide instructional support and assistance to students with IEPs under the direction of a certified special education teacher
• Support students in general education and/or resource settings
• Assist with implementing behavior intervention plans and support positive behavior strategies
• Monitor and record student progress as directed
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs as necessary
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all state and district policies related to student privacy and special education
• Participate in training and professional development
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must meet Washington State paraeducator requirements (Associate degree, 72 college credits, or passing the ETS ParaPro Assessment)—this can be acquired after employment
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed
Working Conditions:
• May involve working one-on-one with students
• May involve lifting, toileting, and other physical supports
