Must hold or qualify for a Washington State teaching certificate with proper endorsements, or have the ability to obtain required endorsements

Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in music and band curriculum and current instructional techniques.

Demonstrated abilities to:

• Develop and implement an instrumental music program that will teach the basic fundamentals and provide students with an opportunity to perfect the same.
• Plan and assess student learning consistent with connected Washington State Learning Standards and learning targets.
• Lead Pep Band at sporting events in the Fall and Winter season.
• Perform at appropriate school and/or community events as required or requested.
• Perform evening concerts each year for both schools.
• Maintain music inventory including instruments.
• Centering instruction on high expectations for student achievement.
• Communicate student progress to students and parents.
• Work with Special Education teachers and support staff to meet individualized learning plans and utilize different strategies to meet student’s skill levels, learning styles and social/emotional needs.
• Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment.
• Exhibit collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning.
• Communicate school programs to patrons.
• Knowledge of Washington State Classroom Based Assessment in the Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Teacher Principal Evaluation Project (TPEP), with a focus on the 5D-CEL model.
• Knowledge and understanding of ACES and being trauma-informed.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
